Yes, I ate both of them.

Escargots are very tender and as they are cooked with garlic butter, it melt in the mouth.

Frogs legs are like chicken delicacies.

Have a try if you have the chance.

Yep tasted both, frogs legs and snails.

Frogs legs - similar texture to chicken, it was a bit dry, the flavour was like chicken fried in some kind of fishy oil. I won't bother wasting my time or money on them again.

Snails - texture like rubbery oysters, they were cooked in so much garlic There wasn't really any other identifiable flavour just watery garlic rubbery jelly. The thought of it was too gross, again, I won't bother wasting my time or money on them again.

I think - these foods are thought of as a delicacy, but if you think about the whole concept of eating beef or lamb or fish or chicken or vegetables, why / what motivation would people have to be eating these things which at first glance appear totally unappetising?

I guess the first people to eat these things must have been pretty darn hungry, probably hungry due to some tyrant living the high life while the peasants live on the leftovers. Then some smartie pants decided to name it as a delicacy to rob the rich, or make fun of the rich.

But try it for yourself, have fun, have a laugh. The snails I tasted with a very pretty young lady on a date, and the frogs legs I tried with a different lovely young lady on a date. I haven't spoken to either of them for about a decade now, but there are some fond memories.

Good luck

Escargots are very yummy, not a lot of their own taste, but smothered in REAL butter and masses of garlic MMmmmmmm..

Frogs legs equally yummy, taste like sweet chicken with a slight seafood under taste.

The only off putting thing about eating frogs legs, is that they're usually served with the feet still on them, so there is a little webby foot sticking out of the crumbs, or however you have them prepared.....

Snails are great with lots of garlic butter. Only problem, you have to get past the fact that you are eating snails to enjoy them. Frog legs are yummy, and of course they taste like chicken.

Okay, everyone will tell you frog legs taste like chicken. WRONG. Like chicken marinated in lake water. The only way to compare them to chicken, is because chicken is a bland tasting meat, unless marinated, fried, or roasted with seasonings. Frog legs is a bland meat as well, but has this hint of a taste like.... Lake water. Stick with chicken. If anyone tells you something tastes like chicken, just stick with the chicken.

Escargo tastes according to the sacue you put them in. Frog legs are often eaten here in Malaysia, and they have a very springy texture compared to chicken. I tastes like chicken with a subtle sweet after taste. Great for cooking with sliced ginger and spring onions!

I thought snails were like mussels in texture, but without the flavour. The only real flavour I got was from the sauce.

Frogs legs are, of course, just like chicken.

I have tasted escargots as they are eaten in Ivory coast ...the thing is you have to know how to cook them otherwise is like eating beef with a hint of sand...but then again if they taste like beef why eating snails?

if you have your frogs legs in france they would normally be served in a dryish tomato, herb and garlic sauce, a little like chicken , very subtle flavors, delicious. escargo on the other hand has a taste all its own, will be served in garlic butter, equally scrumptious

Yes. They are very good.

There are many ways of preparing them, including in sauce, but the most popular way is simply grilled and served with garlic and butter.
